Me hates Rappies...

Hm... actually they're really cute, but I'll go on to explain :

Having nothing really urgent to do (well... actually there is several stuff I should care for sooner or later, for example... I'm sorry, Nyasuke-kun ^-^;) I spent the biggest wake-time of yesterday (which was Thursday) with hunting Pal Rappies with Hannya. Rest was invested into sleeping and I need a quite ridiculously high amount of time for that... but that's another thing...

Well... I decided against piping, since I could both level Hannya, look for a nice Cross Scar with a good Hit-bonus and score Grinders and Materials in the same run.
Result was: Hannya is Level 93 now (from being 84 yesterday), found 3 good Cross Scar that she will keep and filled her bank account with 30 worth in grinders, 19 Power Materials, more than 10 Defense Mats and around the same amount of Evade Materials. Sadly no Mind (since Mew only needs 2 of them to be done with her diet), but well. Sadly as well: not one Pal Rappy.

What surpises me the most is, that... around 9 Levels require... let's say 400k of EXP. That's an awesome amount. Taken Kahimi for example, she'd be even quicker through this quest, maybe scoring an Agito 1975 on the way. Hm, I should give it a try since I heard, that her runs for DNA are said to be useless offline.

Back to Hannya. No Pal Rappy and thus no Star Amplifier. And I'd need two of them... (Forces are indeed one of the easiest class to play and kill stuff efficiently - especially offline - but they are also one of the most difficult class to support - I mean Tech-boosting Weapons, Tech-Disks, Mind Materials, MAG, especially Merges)... *sigh*
After around 25 or 30 runs (I didn't count) alone today... I don't really like to see more Rappies... time for piping? On the other hand, so far it's a really easy way to level up and the S-Ranks need their Grinders and RenaMS and Shinobu are waiting to start with their diets.
I think I should just go on with killing stuff. Leaves also time to feed Hannya a Mind-only MAG (2 feedings per run, one in the middle right after the first room with 13 Rappies in it).

Today morning, quite a different picture - around 15 runs done (one run needs around 9 minutes from from one loading to the other, including checking the shop each time for Monogrinders), leveled three times, two Pal Rappies seen, but both just give Shields...
I begin to doubt that the drop chance is really 1/2... but well. It needed Lorelei 4 Pal Rappies to get a Red Handgun, so it might be the same with Hannya... both have bad luck with Rappies.
These birds seem to not like me (that must be the reason why they are trying to kill my chara *laughs*)

Now something quite different. The day before yesterday and for a break, Hannya attempted to clean up some of the offline-quests. Assisting this FOmarl with her diet. On the way, she stumbled over a Mil Lilly. Ok, time to be careful. Gah. Once realized, she turned around and while casting Zonde, the other, Ob Lilly killed her. Argh... Sense Plate... 1/2 chance. Well... Next time then ^_^;

What else...
Ah yes, I'm glad I got myself a copy of that japanese drop-chart-page I linked since it seems being taken down (or to describe it better: blanked out) for good. Heh... ^-^; I think I am guilty doing my part of promoting it so it might have bursted some bandwidth-limit or something. I'm awfully sorry. Link is set off for a time. Maybe I'll rehash the info and host it here since so far, I don't have a problem with any limitation of bandwidth.

Then... my try to shift my sleep-time back to 'normal' doesn't work as it should, to be honest. I run / sit around having a slight headache on the left side of my head and also around the left eye. Drinking much might help there, but water is said to be not that good, 'sugarwater' is said to be not good at all. So... juices... or juice mixed with water without soda in it. Icetea... stuff like that. Hm...

All in all, it's quite a mess these days... nothing to do than sitting around, waiting to fall asleep. I slept yesterday, for six hours and around four hours after waking up after around seven hours of sleep. Isn't that kinda... unusual? even unhealthy? I dunno. And with the weekend infront of me... maybe I should take a break from getting online during night (which would mean taking a break from getting online at all... since I can't afford and thus not allow myself to go online during the day often). Maybe I caught something again, since it was quite cold and windy these days.

Language issues...

Some months ago I started to play offline with the language setting switched to japanese. Since I play that game for almost two full years now, it's quite save to say that I know all quests by now ^_^;.
So in total it's just for training, for reading Katakana fluently, for learning and memorizing Kanji here and there (like 'aka' from the Red Partisan for example - see picture to the left) and to check up how NPCs like Elenor speak (she's sickenly cute actually).

Of course not to forget online. I can now switch to typing in japanese as well as english or german - even in the same speechbubble. I can use musical notes, hearts, special smileys, direction arrows or PSO-font. Only letdown would be that any more complex Word-Select-Sentence is like a hit to the head to me.

And that's excactly the reason why I switch back to german language when I attempt C-Mode. Can't lose an information. Then again, a burned kid learns best how hot fire is.

But as well, with time comes enlightment. I'm on the best way to at least be able to guess what everyone means. *laughs*

Shifting times...

Actually, right now, it's almost 7 o'clock in the morning.
I just logged off from being online some half an hour ago after saying good night to everyone, implemented the few new snapshots and updating the chara-files and sipping some camilla-tea (dunno if the spelling is right, I'm too tired to look it up right now ^_^;).

Well...
To be precise, I haven't planned to go online this night. But I was bored and not that tired.
And even after ingoring my plan (to not play online during week), I didn't intend to stay up until dawn again. But I still wasn't tired.

The problem is, playing at night is eating away all my morning and even some few hours off the afternoon, since I tend to sleep up to 2 pm. most of the time. Well. I can allow myself to sleep that long since its lecture-free time. But then again... it doesn't feel right.

I think I should really get a grip and go to bed even though I would like to go online. But in the end, Kim is right... Soon, the new semester starts and the free time will be gone (and this time for sure ^_^;), so maybe I shouldn't worry that much about my shifted sleep- and waketime and just have some fun.

About background-colour and shortening the pages.

It was about time to work against too much data on one page. For example I have a link now for the history data (if anyone cares).
Then, this Today's Thoughs-section followed. From now on, I'll put all Logs from one month into one file. The actual month will be here, the older writings will be in their particular month-file, findable right under the header, to the right side.

Then, I once again reworked the chara-file (seems to be my favorite part of this homepage *laughs*). Well, I realized that the text is easier to read when there's no repeating matrix-picture behind it. First I wanted to better this with darkening the picture, but it just got more and more worse (and that's also why the site got updated within such a short period of time again this time).
However, BGCOLOR in TABLE-tags are not conform with HTML 3.2 so maybe some older browsers will have their issues with it (which means, they ignore the fact that there should be a background colour in the tables... no biggy actually...).

Well... I think about reworking the gallery-files as well as this one here and of course the cover in an equal way. Maybe adding a non-moving background (which would be a Internet Explorer-only feature though) and laying a dark background under every text.

What do you think? Please tell me though an e-mail.

Thank you in advance.

Diet plans

Well, Ever since the change from v.2 (Dreamcast) to v.3 (Gamecube) one of the biggest things that kept in my mind was the Material Limitation (an other thing was the Challenge-mode bug). So, what did I do? I collected all data (Level 200 stats, gold stats which would be the maximum and additions you could do with the help of God-units) and started to math around.

But the most tricky thing is not to bring all stats to gold status (which is, with most character-classes, actually impossible). It's to decide, what would be of the most use in the end and (most important) on the way there.

For example, Hunters as well as human Rangers can ignore to max their Mind stat. Its Power, Defense, Accuracy and Evade what they should concentrate at. Forces on the other hand should care for highest as possible Mind first.

This is easy with a FOnewearl. She'll max her MST at Level 200 only with the help of a MAG. So it should be 150 Mind Materials for her.

With a FOmarl it's unlikely more difficult. She would max her MST, but shouldn't forget ATP as well. Nor Def, nor Evade. Even with 30 Luck Materials eaten, it just needs a good MAG and she can easily max most of the stats. But what's important on the way there? Her MST is, when compared with a FOnewearl, lousy.
Why am I not that happy with what I gave Hannya? I must have fluked there, giving her so much Def Materials. Its around 15 too many of them. I could have invested that into Power instead. Darn.

Hm... At least I think I did a good job with Mew's RAmarl-plan. She just needs a God/Ability and a new, more specialized MAG to be perfect at Level 200, since she only needs 50 DEX-levels once she's at the highest Level. Way to go *laughs*

Well, at the end of this Log, again some technical issues concerning the page:
I added some more info at the chara-files. With more, I mean I added their Material Diet Plans.

''Ah-hah!'' you say. That's what it's all about with this babbling about Materials. Well... kinda. I leveled MewMew and decided, it was time to calculate the best usage for her. At the same time I finished Hannya's diet and, well... you know allready.

Insecure future

Things are changing. Mostly unforeseen aspects and into unforeseen directions.
Well and, as things are changing, you sometimes get more and more possibilities and / or as well will lose privilegues you earned previously.

What I want to say with this is, that actually I don't know if this page will be off due to the end of September, since the webspace's "owner" will maybe have to change his course. So far, nothing is decided, but it will have to be within the next few weeks. We'll see.

Of course I on my part of the story, will try to find some replacement server for it, if there has to be one. Best would be one without any pop ups, without any restrictions and, if possible, without any monthly costs. But I think, so far this would be a wishdream.

The law of chance

Recently, while reading through the forums of PSO-World, I stumbled across a very interesting site in one of the threads :

members.tripod.co.jp/sakaki2k4/ult.html

I for my part think this is a great site. Also I believe these chances are correct, although there is some doubt about it flying around the forums.

In the end, these charts should just be seen as what they are - as a guideline.
You could still find a very rare item on the first or second try (like Kahimi found her new Asuka from Barba Ray on the ...third temple-run in total and first try for it - though, with 20% it isn't that rare at all), or you hunt forever for something that should be actually pretty common, compared with the number of monsters you kill for it... (like Lorelei, doing 20 Addicting Food-quest runs with around 60 Poison Lillies each, and none of them dropped the wanted, third Magic Rock: Moola - drop chance is 0.3%, as far as i remember...)

Then, a while ago, Lorelei stressed her luck in the Mines and got lucky - a wonderful Kasami Bracer accompanies her DF Field right now - also I heard these two would be Hunter's first choice as Armor and Shield. I'm really happy, yay.
When I think of it, everything is findable and I really like the fact that I now know how rare each weapon was supposed to be. It really helped me to understand the game better.

Now to this site's technical side...
I added this and my favorite PSO-related site to a new link section at the cover-page.
Furthermore, there is a new baka-omake, and as always did I update the character files.
Enjoy.

Omake

V.2.0, indeed, though I did not touch the snapshots. What's new :

=> I felt free to add a thumbnail page to offer a quick look over the first 100 pictures,
=> character files got overworked and contains now a bit more info about the chara
=> and last but not least I proudly present Raziel Kai's Baka-Omake. Enjoy.

For those who wonder, ''omake'' means ''bonus'' or ''extra'' in japanese.

About brilliance and details

I made the text a wee bit brighter again, since the brighter it is, the better is it readable as well.

Furthermore I noticed that the snapshots are a bit dark on every PC except for my own. I don't really know why it is like this and so I can't do anything against it in the moment. Only thing I could say about it would be that your Monitor is too dark (or mine's a bit too bright).
Since these Pictures are also officially used like they are right now, they can't be too dark themselfes.

Actually I already thought about enhancing the pictures brightness a little bit. But right now I'm not sure. So if there are any problems and you'd like the pictures enlightened, please give me a hint. Once I get enough complaints, I'll proceed and make a V.2.0 of the page right away.

A second problem would be the picture's byte-sizes. In the first place I thought it would have been a good idea to make them as small as possible and I judged that JPG 75% is still good enough to get an idea of what the picture is showing. Especially since JPG 100% isn't that much better looking either and thus just wasting possibilities.
But now I got told about that they lack detail. I'm really sorry about that.

The thing is, are slim pictures really needed? Or don't even dial up users don't mind if a page needs around two to three minutes to load?
On the other hand, is detail really that important? I mean, it's not my own online-diskspace I'm using here, it's lend by a friend. So... not to stress someones kindness with wasting space, would be a good thing, I thought.

Hm...
So far, I'll keep things like they are right now. If you're really not happy with them, let me know.
