anticipating... and arriving

Updates:

· The chara pages are now ready for Ep2-Challenge Mode-data. Well at least Shinobu solved the first stage so far.
· Again, Maliit sent over 7 new pictures. Admire them here.
· As well, Muff mailed three new snapshots..

Episode 2 Challenge mode is quite... strange. It took me 4 tries with two different teams to finally solve it.
Shinobu's horrible time of 2 hours 14 minutes and 3 seconds for Stage 1 resolves from the fact that we were only three and that we took the time to search the first areas for anything interesting.

What else, I set a new highlight in TP hunting during friday. Rab and Sam joined me and together we scored an awesome amount of them. Rab got incredibly lucky with them, I traded some from Sam and found 8 of them myself. Together it adds to the whopping ammount of 29 TP Mats that Hannya could use so far. In total I spent more than 3 hours this time but it was definitely worth it.
Some Leveling afterwards helped as well and I could bring RenaMS to Lvl 59.

Saturday was not that productive. I logged in very late and we almost did nothing. One single HP Mat, some chatting then I left again.

Today it started. Santa Rappies as well as Ep2-C-Mode. Hannya already changed into something more red to fool the Rappies to come out quicker. *laughs* Although Lorelei did the runs and after 30 single Temple-runs on normal, she gave up for today. More here.

On a sidenote... hitting 2,000 total hours on this version is... something to mention? maybe... something to be proud of? I doubt it... so... well... yeah... have fun with the updates.

Hehe, everyone submitted new stuff so I felt like I had to update.

New stuff is:

· Auracom's picture count goes up to 86. With text. See and read his thought about leveling and more awesome stuff.
· Maliit Lit submitted 2 more pictures too. Enjoy as well.
· The others were lazy >_> (just kidding ^-^;)
· I added thumbnails to Auracoms Gallery, as promissed. Have fun with them.
· Besides that, nothing really new from me as well >_> despite updating the chara pages of course and some minor shape-ups.
· ...and well, I think one could call the history-update as kinda new. Get smart with checking the PictureCount-updates.
· just for giggles I added little messages to the icons... kinda like a mood-resume - also check back to november if you need to kill time.

Lately I'm really into that Rappy Holiday-Quest. Alone Yesterday I could get 6 TP Materials and 4 HP Materials within 100 minutes. Recently it was 1 TP Mat and 12 HP Mats. Really nice and helpful.

Besides this, I'm trying to play F-Zero GX as often as I can. First cup is won, but the second cup... the last course there - Mute City, with all the jumps and blah... I manage to get there with ease and enough points to score at least something like 15th place. But I never ever came through the goal even once. Not even in training! It's a really hard track. I noticed, that there is a bump in right before the goal that lets the glider jump off track if one doesn't ''lean forward''. There were jumps like that in F-Zero 64 as well. Must be some gravity issue.
All in All, especially the Charactersheets remind me more of Sonic Adventure than of F-Zero (Captain Falcon getting a sung song and all that...). It's well done, I love the last track of the first cup. Music is great even though its sometimes a bit too 'ravy' and I miss the more rocky tunes from F-Zero 64.
The game sounds and feels more like mainstream now, more like... wipeout or x-treme G... though it kept some unique roots alive. Sega really did a good job here, but... it could have been better... esp. the story part is quite annoying. I don't say anything about the needed training for it but not that its just boring, it also eats away the precious tickets. Bah, I'll wait until I bought anything else before I continue with that part.

So far my first impressions. Prepare for more in a week or two.
Btw. I'll get 'Viewtiful Joe' for the holidays just because I mentioned it ONCE! Gah! Now I need to get presents for the others...

about Level 200 and other things [updated]

Whew. So... Aura reached the final Level, and - as he expesses it - with one smiling and one crying eye.

One the one hand, Level 200 is what the final goal is. But once one acchieves that goal, there is one big motivation gone. Not even the Experience Points-Counter goes on, which I find quite disappointing.

I remember, when Rena hit Level 100 on DC v.1, the counter went on. Still I had the need for a new chara then (which had several reasons actually but one of them was that Rena the HUnewearl couldn't go on anymore, so I bought a new VMU and switched over to Rena the FOnewearl...).

At least to me, it felt like a big waste of time going on with a character that can't level anymore. I kinda feel the same for Lorelei these days, since there is actually no need to go any further than to reach Level 151 (that's the point where the shops start selling Yellow Photon Series-Weapons like Raygun, Vulcans, Arms and the like).

So, Aura... have fun with all your other chara and RenaMS will do her best to fit into Auracom's huge footsteps. *laughs*

Furthermore I want to introduce Maliit Lit's Snapshots on my Site. It's the third Subpage of four that will be hosted on this site in the near future. The fourth and last slot gets negotiated about already. I hope you enjoy them, more will follow.

Then sooner as expected actually the fourth slot will get occupied. Let's all warmly welcome Muff's Stuff. Thank you both for the impressions about Ep.3 so far. Please keep it going.

What else. Well, due to the lack of movies (actually planned was 'The One' with Jet Li *swoons*, but...) I watched 'Ice Age' lately. To sum it up, I wasted my time. It's nothing more than a movie for little kids. Some of the jokes are quite catchy but most of them simply don't work (because of their rather basic idea). Half the movie, it's feeling like a blunt 'Shrek'-Clone, hastly rendered to get some money out of it. They really klutzy, cubic chara- and eviromental design and the very lacking textures just add to that impression.
Where we are at Shrek... there will be a second part of it in the theaters soon. I loved the first one, I think I watched it around... 20 to 30 times... so I'll definitely not going to see it. To be honest, the whole thing stinks like trying to cash easy money.

Beware of Spoilers about Shrek 1 and 2 in this paragraph:
Also I always found, it would make way more sense that Fiona actually was an Ogre and gets transformed into a Human over day, because the whole first part did not say in any word which of her forms where the initial one. Seeing as how the second movie turns into the lame direction just to be able to celebrate the politically correct 'oh we may be different, but we can get along'-idea... well... I'm not very appealed by it. Don't get me wrong, I really support this way of thinking, but I don't want to see a lame story basing on it.

Well, I'm really looking forward to Lord of the Rings. And Santa Rappies... and Episode 2 Challenge Mode (we definitely need a shorter name for it). And a valid release date for Episode 3 in Europe would be nice as well.

Finally done with the new design

Advent, Advent, ein Lichtlein brennt.
How time goes by, its astonishing on the one and frightening on the other hand. I accumulated 1,900 Hours so far, I have this site since five months already, I have new glasses now... wait, that doesn't fit in here.

Well kinda to celebrate and also kinda to finish what I began a long time ago, I changed the outfit of the Galleries a bit, to add some more comfort for the eyes when one tries to read the text.
More? Maybe I'll have to present a little surprise soon. It's not 100 % sure, but I think we'll have a new section in the near future. Wait and see.

Movies:
''Master & Commander''. An awesome movie. And when I say 'awesome' then I mean it like that. It's one of the deepest movies this year. The story was great, the director's work was very well done, the actors were very believeable. Not just Crowe, but also the Doctor who played a wonderful Antipode towards the Captain. So much detail everywhere where one could utilize one's background knowledge, it's astonishing. Concluding I'd say that it's a serious, partly cruel, partly amuseing movie. Go and see it if you can't stand popcorn movie in the moment.

''Ring 0'' (Zero / Birthday), on DVD, got released as well here. Without any further thought I picked it up but it had to wait some days until we could watch it. It's again very slowpaced but this time less mysterious and more tragic. For those who have seen the first two parts this is a nice way to get some background info and maybe one changes the personal point of view because of that.
I'm personally looking forward to ''Dark Water'' which is said to be released in a few days.
