![]() ...undecided? ... like a break? so tell me, whats new? · a few new snapshots. · two links added to the link section. Takeshi Kitano-sites. · the standard updates to the other stuff. To keep it short, because I'm kinda tired: Lately I mentioned my idea of Ep.3. Buying it, would depend on its european release date. But by now I'm feeling more and more like its not worth it, that no new game would be worth buying. Maybe a break? Maybe a change... Besides this... The big question these days would be... : which one should be my custom PSO-World-Avatar? ![]() I for myself tend a bit to No.6, 12 or 13... Rena |
![]() Newest Additions oh, something changed, right? · one new snapshot. · I added my temporary Memcard to the chara-section. Welcome to BumbleBee. · the standard updates to the other stuff. So, lately it goes like this: Clearing stages with Bumblebee to get another S-Rank. After that, trying 2C4 as Shinobu with Tetsu-ko, Hikaru and Risu. And the day ends with trying 2C4 as Noctune with Ibuki, Risu and Leroy. The problem of this stage is really not the stage itself. Under Purplenum, we found very good weapons, partly right at the start. The problem is its length and with that the somehow way higher chance to suffer a sudden or laggy disconnect. I'm kinda looking forward to when this stage gets released on the EU servers (which are as always one month behind for some dumb reason). *sighs* Rena |
![]() meh... news? · 5 new snapshots. · the standard updates to the other stuff. So, you might have noticed that the short-url is down. I cant contact the host anymore as well. So, if anyone can suggest a completely free short-url, I'd really like to learn about it. As long as it's free (of charge and pop-ups etc) and short, anything is fine. Hm, Ep1-2 is incredibly boring these days. Everyone is playing cards. It must be really fascinating... ¬_¬ So I'm kinda doomed to repeat my tries on 2C4, torpedoed by lousy players who wouldnt even survive Ep1-C-Mode. Meh. If you never played the thing, go explore it before you waste other people's time! Shinobu put more than 10 hours into that already... Then, 2C2 attempt as Chiyo. Something went kinda wrong and I died twice - caught by ice breath each time. We strangely wasted more dolls than supposed on Gol Dragon's first part. Well, next time, because it was fun nonetheless. After that, Chiyo participated helping with C8. Nice run, the one japanese was very nice and the two HUct who were the initial team were not bad either. 36 minutes, 3 minutes worse than Chiyo's actual time. Then, FROmage joined a nice japanese for C9. One of the two HUct from before completed the team. We had a very tough map. Lots of Sorcerers and Belras and a fair share of Chaos Bringers. Let's say, FROmage's Gifoie-boost came in very handy. Too bad the HUct got lost in Falz' endless warp. We lost around 4 inutes to that, which would have been my best personal C9-time. Well, anyway, FROmage has a very nice cleartime. I finished the c-mode-day with a 1C1 run for a japanese. Another japanese joined who looked exactly the same as the first HUcl. She was just a bit bigger. We had a nice map, but no barta. Still, with constant Zonde-casting and the hammering of the others, we downed the Dragon after its second dive and scored a not bad time. ![]() something and something else so, tell me what's new? · 10 new snapshots. Woah! · the third quest got added to the data-section. · the usual updates to everything else. It was a wonderful day, yesterday. I, still happy about finding a Sorcerer Cane had a little walk through the town. The air is warm already - at least warmer than it was one or two weeks ago. One can smell that spring is coming. Kahimi's third quest is through Retired Hunter - ruins 3 - and starring the always talking greyhaired Donoph posing off with his Zanba and cool Anti 1-tech. Heh, the timer is annoying. His counting is annoying. The traps and all the back and forth is annoying too. Dont expect more than 50 runs here. What Kahimi is actually looking for is a Guardiana from Belra and maybe a DF Field from Del D, but the Maingoal is to reach Level 152. Good luck girl. Movies. Yes, again, movies. Yesterday we watched the wonderful japanese movie 'Shall we Dansu?' again. I might add that I'm a very musical person and every movie that has a score like that ('Lord of the Rings' for example, 'a beautiful Mind', or for that matter all Takeshi Kitano and Studio Ghibli-movies - I simply love Joe Hisaishi) simply fascinate me. Well, 'Shall we Dansu?', right? It's a movie about dancing, like I mentioned it in a previous rant as well as the name itself might imply. Its about dance-sport to be precise and its about a salary-man who gets into the (in japan of that time) forbidden world of dancing. A very cute, funny and beautiful movie. Those who like japanese movies should definitely watch it. Here is a nice english Article about it. And here a german (with pictures) conclusion of the whole movie ('Fortsetzung' leads you to part 2) Rena |
![]() precious lessons for real life anything new? · 300th snapshot. Let's celebrate! · the usual updates in the chara section and the data-section. I actually have to follow all this talk about Episode 3. I get confronted by it each time I go online as well (seeing people online but unreachable in the C#-lobbies). And I repeatedly curse at Sega of Europe and Sonic Team to be so slacky to not bring out an online game worldwide within a short amount of delay - a month maybe. Ok - so far the personal facts. Ep3, for me that is something unreachable (just accept that I wont buy a freeloader, import the US version and pay for 2 HLs simultanously - simply for the fact that the US version has no german language setting), interesting, yet somethign I usually dont like. Ruthless competition. This has to do partly with my lifestyle, my point of view on things and my idea of this world. Explaining every bit might use up several pages so I wont do that in this section. So, simply the fact that I virtually have zero recordings of any battles in v2 or v3 actually proves I'm not a very competetive person to begin with. I see myself as glue that holds a team together most of the time, I see myself as rogue. I have no problem with being alone, I have no problem to order myself under a team, but I have a problem with the idea to have to think of myself as the best person for something I target. Because I know I'm not. I hate egocentric, egoistic ideals. I hate low horizon-minded patterns. Hmmm. Well, why do I still plan on playing the game once it's released in Europe? Because I'm a collector in mind. I dont collect much in real life but the urge to get complete sets in in my mind. Altough I determine what's a Set for myself. f'' instead of f, if you know what I mean. What's the point of all this so far? I watch Yu-Gi-Oh lately. Yes, the german dub that bases on the awful US-dub. Having the time for that while doing runs, I try to filter out the original story from beneath the dubbing and according to the actual actions and emotions carried by the animation itself. While doing this, I have enough time to think about the cultural differences since I, as a german, am not only inbetween US and Japan, but as an raised east-german, I'm actually an alien to today's social culture. Or should I say 'un-social' culture. Now is the point where you jump to conclusions. Ah, a social reject. Cant cope with the capital way? Heh *smiles* Thats actually not the point here. I had enough time and opportunities so far to have a look on several systems and sub-systems. It's no use to point out that humanity is still something that's actually not existing in today's system(s). Anyway. Back to the actual 'lessons' thing that I left you out in the rain with so far. Being confronted with cries about 'unfair play' and other associal behavior, some points came to my head. For first, we are all aware that Ep.3 is a competitive game, right? Sure it has 2-player teams, but thats just fassade because the CPU enemies are not really a very good enemy unless they back up with onesided rules (I avoid the word 'unfair' here, as you might have noticed - I'll explain later). So, I have nothing left than to emulate for myself how it would be when I would play it already. I'm pretty good in creating probable universes in smaller focus - or as you could also say: daydream a 'what if'-idea to detail. What a character would I chose as my Lobby-avatar? I'm not sure. From my v2 and v3 chars there are following options: -Rena like she was on dreamcast (see here) - as some sort of open option. -Hannya as the fierce battler who can handle duels quite well and stands above things. -Parfait - just read her chara-background, who'd be a better choice? -completely new char I'm still deciding but most likely I'll end up with all of those options - definitely I'll have Hannya v4 and Parfait v4 sooner or later. What would be my playstyle? To prevent being bashed by 'noob-hunters' I'd most likely play offline and with friends online. Training. I'll enter turnaments when I feel ready, which might be a month after starting. I don't like jumping into cold water, I want to know what awaits me so I can keep up my face all the time. The Human is a predator. Specialized on living on its own and living in small families. Today's world is way too crowded, which goes against the actual programming, but to compensate this is a matter of training. Why this all of a sudden? Easy. Competition-based online games bring out the best battle-tactic humankind ever invented, using the flaws to win. Flaws that lie in the enemy's skill, in the surrounding laws of battle, or in the advantage the own weapons have over the other one's. Now you get me? Not the people who play ruthless (again, no need to use the word 'unfair') are to blame but Sonic Team who produced an unbalanced and rather limited game. Easily said, since they're pioneers once again with an online card game for console (at least to my knowledge). Let's see how this is in real (= when I finally will be able to play it). *laughs* So, what's the point of all this? If you want to compete, you'll have to take the worst in account. Its a versus-game after all and you cant await honor from the other one these days. Whew, besides this, I got something, that I lost long time ago. In other form, but well, its really refreshing old memories. What might it be? Music. To be exact, very wacky music from the early 90ties that I really loved back then. The name is 'Raumschiff Edelweiss' - a caricature of Star trek. I guess best would be to throw an ear on it if you have the chance. *laughs* - I suggest the tracks 'Raumschiff Edelweiss' and 'Planet Edelweiss' for a starting dive into 90's better german softpop disco music. ^_~ Rena |
![]() movie time anything new? · 2 new Snapshots. Today was a sole PSO day. First off, Kahimi did some of her DSP-runs. Still no Sorcerer Arm, but a PD from a Belra. Neat... 103 run to today. The 1:1 virtual Chance is passed, but one thing is troubling me... out of those... 1030 Sorcerers I killed three while they hovered over an abyss... so maybe I already missed an arm or two? Or three? This thing is really worrying me... Then I went online, met up with Kim and Aura and finally we did cmode. Leroy wasn't online today so we didn't continue with 2C2, but with 1C2. Mew scored her shield and bettered her C2-time about more than 10 Minutes due to a fabulous Dim Rifle. The Nanos fell from the sky like raindrops. Too bad she got disconnected during the final of C3. We found another Dim Gun and the Shock Autogun wasn't bad either. Then we tried 1C1 for Mew since I planned on getting both her Shields. First try, save game but bad time. She had 86 HP when it was over. Second try, she got burried by the Dragon's corpse at around 11 Minutes. Bummer. We tried again, and scored an awesome 10"18. No Shield because we all confused Suzaku and Byakko. ^-^; While the C-Mode, I listened to several japanese movies. First was ''Himitsu no Hanasono'' - my personal favourite. A very funny movie, the female lead plays great, lots of things happen on her Quest for her secret treasure. I especially like the movie's music. Best thing is, that I have it recorded on VHS at 2-channel-sound which means I can switch from german dub to japanese dub anytime. Second movie was ''Hachigatsu no Kyohshikyoku'' (something about August, I'm sorry, I can't translate it right now ^-^;;). It's a movie about Hiroshima and Nagasaki by Akira Kurosawa. Richard Geere plays too and has a funny american (what else) accent in the jp. version. To lighten me up after that, I watched ''Shall we Dansu?'' (Dansu written in Katakana), a very cute and funny movie about dancing in japan (sorta like a japanese version of ''Dirty Dancing'' - just revolving around classic Dance). There I only have the german dub, but that one is cute as well - and only adds to the whole cuteness of that movie. Next time I'll most likely watch ''the seven Samurai'' (awesome, black and white classic by Akira Kurosawa which inspired the Western ''the glorious Seven'') I guess and end the day with ''Samurai Fiction'' (funny Samurai movie with Hotei, the giant Rock-singer - he's around 190cm!). ![]() year 1 something updated: · 1 new Snapshot. · the data-page got updated: second year's Finding-file, some links for alternative Dropcharts. · the chara-files got some char-background info added. Enjoy. Wow. One complete year on this version. 2700 hours. Tons of findings, still tons of items to be found. This game truely has no end. Lots of things happened in this year. I found lots of friends and pals. Some of them are not that frequently online anymore. Some of them are still around. Some of them have to compensate some losses with their characters. Some of them found awesome stuff in that time. Some of them still look for their personal desired item. My english improved a lot since I started playing PSO on Dreamcast 2 and a half years ago... and even my japanese got a bit better. Not to forget all the cultural insight I got. Hmhmhm. Thank you all for being my friends. m(_ _)m I dont know how long this all will last. The urlz.de-account will stop working on September 22th. I'll most likely need a new, cost-, pop-up- and bannerfree host from September 30th onwards. We'll see. Rena |
![]() schedules again [Update] what's new? · 5 new Snapshots. · Mew's AF-run report and Kahimi's DSP-run report are updated (and findable here). · Aura sent over some new pictures. · and finally I linked to Vulpes' PSO page in the Suggested Links Collection. So, Rena got her 24 hours back. Whew. Still the too high stats are puzzling me, but I'll have to level her to 115 or 120 to check that up. Besides this, Kahimi started some runs as well (for a Sorcerer's Arm), while Mew takes a break. Mew did 50 AF runs and that's quite a lot. Her chances to find the elusive Smoking Plate are still quite low. Hm, it will take Kahimi approximately 90 runs to get one (1:1 virtual chance then). Rena |
![]() losing time...??! [updated] something new? · one new Snapshot. · Mew's AF-run report is now here to be found (part of the rare-enemy-file) updated. Something strange happened. Rena lost some time on her counter. Pretty much 20 hours to be precise. She had a total of 134 hours when she logged on (I know that for sure, because I note all times down before I go to bed - some sort of closing the day and preparing for the next Site-update). But yesterday I checked her time and it was 116 hours. I played 2 hours online with her and somehow the system must have kicked those 20 hours. What's stange is that nothing happened to the Chara itself - the same Cmode times, the same stats, all items still there... Hm, I have to check, if the Materials are ok. Very strange... Update: see here to find the complete report I made about this incident. But please dont post there anymore. Besides this... The Oscars! While doing Ep2C2 with Shinobu, I had one ear open towards the Oscar night. Actually I couldnt care less about glamour and celebs and all this decadent stuff, but I was curious, how my favourite movie of 2003 would score. So, for everyone who doesnt watch TV at all, 'Master & Commander' scored 2 Oscars - obviously in cathegories where 'Lord of the Rings' was NOT nominated *laughs*. Later movie got all 11 Oscars it was nominated for and it would have been rather surprising, if it wouldnt have went that way. I mean, Peter Jackson dedicated more than a decade of his life into these movies. Every other movie is a joke compared to that. Rena |
